Upcoming events, plus a temporary closure
4/27: Access + Stewardship Committee Meeting
A&S meeting at East End Brewing, 7-8p Monday, April 27! We have a few “new” climbing areas coming online this year that we’ll be talking about and a couple more work days to plan. We’ll also be doing some climbing at Ascend Point Breeze before the meeting. Show up any time from 5:30 on and look for SWPACC t-shirts. Committee Co-chair Andrew Gerlach will be wearing his bright hunter orange one to make it easy. We’ll head over to East End around 6:45 for the meeting.
4/29: Litter Pickup at Frank Curto Park
Join SWPACC on Wednesday, April 29th, beginning at 5:30pm to spruce up Frank Curto Park! We’ll be picking up litter to get ready for…. goats! That’s right, Allegheny Goatscape will be making a visit to tackle the growth on the steep hillside below the belay area. Come join us to get the site ready. This event is Rain or Shine! (and if the weather holds, folks may stick around to climb afterwards)
5/4-5/7 – Temporary Closure – Frank Curto Park
ATTENTION: Frank Curto Park will be temporarily CLOSED TO CLIMBING from Monday, May 4 through Thursday, May 7. Allegheny Goatscape will be bringing their friendly goats to help trim back the brush along the steep hillside below the belay area. This is the start to a multi-phase process to restore the hillside’s ecology with native plants. Thank you, Allegheny Goatscape!
